Little Tangles: Watercolor + GIVEAWAY

I am really excited for this months Little Tangles card challenge!

Watercolor is one thing that I always watched other people do and thought "Man that looks easier than most techniques". Boy was I wrong, but I'm glad this challenge gave me the push I needed to keep trying watercolor until I achieved the look I wanted.

All of these cards were made using Distress Inks as watercolors.  For this technique I just rubbed my ink pad on my craft mat, spritzed some water on the color, and painted with it. I had better luck with this technique than I did with actual watercolors.

I hope that this inspires you to create a card using watercolors!

Please submit your card HERE.  The winner will receive a Neat and Tangled stamp set of their choice- for more details please visit the Little Tangles blog!

Cards for Guys

I don't know about you, but I find making cards for guys quite difficult.  I tend to gravitate towards cute patterns, bling, and sparkles- and those totally don't mesh with guys!

Here's a birthday card I made recently for a friend!

I grabbed the Simon Says Stamp Adult Beverages stamp set and dies to create this card. The glasses were colored in with copics and Glossy Accents were used on top of the glasses to give them a more "glass-like" appearance.  Below is a close up the glasses.

What stamp set do you gravitate towards to make cards for guys?

Birthdays Galore

Hello there! After checking my calendar I noticed there are lots of birthdays coming up so I got to work making a few cards.  Here are a few of the ones I've made recently.

For this card, I used the Tim Holtz mini blueprint balloon stamp.  I stamped the balloon on patterned paper and then cut them out by hand.  The card was run through an embossing folder after the sentiment was stamped.  I then grabbed some twine and created the strings for the balloons and a few bows.

This card uses the Lawn Fawn Four Year Four stamp set and coordinating dies.  I used Distress Ink in Faded Jeans to create the sky and just used a light swirling motion.  The grass was paper from the Avery Elle Sorbet collection 6x6 paper pad.
